Logs (Billet Grade)

Whole wood pieces with deep red heartwood. Highest value for carving and export.

How to Identify Quality

Color: Authentic red sandalwood has a deep blood-red to maroon color. Pale or orange tints indicate inferior quality.
Density: Should be heavy and sink in water. Light wood may be adulterated or dried improperly.
Dye Test: Rub on wet white cloth - genuine red sandalwood leaves a distinct red stain.
Grain: Fine, interlocked grain pattern. Coarse or straight grain suggests different species.
